Yes, breathing techniques, as well as talking through it with co workers or anyone you feel comfortable with!

I usually have to take deep breaths, sometimes I do the things around me technique to distract myself and when I get home from a stressful day, I like to talk to my boyfriend about why I was stressed out and get it off of my chest and I like to pet my cat or play with her and make her chase her laser pointer because it makes me laugh. I practice mediation and breathing exercises. Also taking epsom salt baths infused with lavender help a lot.

To release stress I like to take some deep breaths to calm down, make time for myself, and treat myself occasionally.

I like to take a walk on my lunch break (very fortunate to have 1 hour lunch breaks). Or I like to get in a good workout after work. It gives me something to look at the end of the day.

Working with children can indeed be rewarding but also emotionally demanding. It’s important to find techniques to release stress and maintain personal well-being. One technique I’ve found helpful is practicing self-care. This includes prioritizing activities that bring me joy and relaxation, such as engaging in hobbies, exercising, or spending time in nature. Taking breaks throughout the day to recharge and reflect, practicing mindfulness or deep breathing exercises, and seeking support from colleagues or mentors are also effective strategies. Additionally, establishing boundaries between work and personal life and maintaining a healthy work-life balance helps prevent burnout. By prioritizing self-care, I can better manage stress, rejuvenate my energy, and continue providing quality care and support to the children in my care.

I don’t usually get stressed, but when this happens, I like to walk a bit, listen to classical music, or sometimes motivating music and it gives me energy, I also repeat to myself that it’s just a bad moment, not a bad day or a bad life

I always count to 10 before talking if I’m negatively emotional. I usually ask for motherly love to come out from me for the child and usually that calms me down. Positive interaction with children also help me a lot (hugs, smiles, waving cheerily at me etc.).

The biggest thing when wanting to release stress is find something you enjoy. I release my stress by crocheting and playing a game called Stardew Valley. If I find that I am supper stressed I also take a moment and take a breather and try to find the reason why I am stressed and think of ways that I can help ease that stress.

Working with children is very rewarding and very emotional work. Are there any techniques you’ve found to release stress?

In the moment if I start to feel angry I’ll take deep breaths. In the past I worked with 2-3 year olds and they usually notice if your angry and ask. Often I will tell them the truth and say I’m feeling anrgy, and ask them what I should do if I’m feeling angry. We talk about calming down a lot, so they suggest breathing usually. After I calm down, I can show them that the breathing worked.

For at home, in order to destress… I like weighted blankets, tea, and listening to favorite music. Sometimes baking is nice as well.

I would suggest journaling and staying on top with taking care of yourself.
