I discovered that numerous requirements must be met to comply with Washington state regulations. It is quite detailed and informative.

I was not shocked by any WAC. I hold the opinion that everything is clear and logical. I feel that because we engage with babies and children, it is essential to keep them protected.

I can understand how WACs will impact my everyday duties in providing for children since they allow me to concentrate on the expectations that have been developed for the care I will give.

6. I think I already knew a lot of these things alone, so it isn’t a surprise, and it isn’t things I already do wrong because a lot of it is common sense.

I was sort of confused by the activity. I couldn’t find the “questions” the handout mentioned. That said, I was surprised with how specific they were in general. Maybe that’s silly, but the rules on things like record keeping and what information is needed for a child to register was quite specific.

while completing the activity? I learned that there are a lot of different requirements that need to be followed in order to be compliant with the standards of washington state I learned that all the WACs are detailed very specifically in order to comply and understand all requirements.

Were you surprised by any of the WACs? honestly no, all the WACs are pretty straightforward and are there for a reason to help protect a child and help shape little minds but it’s helpful understanding how important the WACs are and how it helps set our standards high to meet child’s needs and helps professionals advocates learn and grow and change the perspective of things in order to meet children needs and requirements.

I can see how this will influence the day to day practice and structure there sometimes will be difficult situations where you need the WACs to help guide us and professional advocates we never know how our day will look like everyday is a different day sometimes we will be drowning in stress confused or worried sometimes we will be rockstars and superheroes and sometimes we will have to advocate for the children in need who suffer child abuse as a mandated reporter we are here to fight for our children we have to strive for the best to help a child that’s why WACs are important in our day to day practice.

I can definitely see how they will influence day-to-day practice in caring for children because it requires you to be very organized and make sure everything is documented which will help make sure everyone is safe and cared for properly.

I learned that there is a lot more comply with then just what we think or know.

1.) I discovered that the WACs are much more detailed then I had thought them to be. It seems very well thought out to cover any circumstance with clear and concise information.

2.) Actually, I was surprised how in-depth the WACs are. I knew that they were guidelines for operating a child care in WA state, but when I think of guidelines I think of vague ideas that are open to interpretation. These guidelines are very detailed, concise, clear, and leave little to the imagination; they are well thought out and achievable.

3.) I can, absolutely, see how knowing these will make me a better educator and caregiver for young children. They take the guess work out of finding the best care practices.

1. I discovered that the WACs are much more thorough than I anticipated. There is a lot more detail put into each item than I thought there would be.

2. I was surprised to learn that a consistent routine for the children is a requirement. It makes sense to have in place, but didn’t think it would be something that was required.

3. The WACs will impact just about every aspect of my day to day care. It helps me to know exactly what I should be doing and how the center should be functioning around me at all times.
