- What I discovered about the WACs is how specific and individual each one is. I’ve had previous experience referencing WACs, but hadn’t done a deep dive to see how specific each piece is.
Were you surprised by any of the WACs?</div><div>
- I wasn’t really surprised by any of the WACs. There’s coverage and expectations for pretty much everything across the board within professional child care.
Can you see how the WACs will influence your day-to-day practice in caring for children? Why or why not?</div><div>
- Yes. WACs influence everything when it comes to caring for children. The WACs give clear and specific outlines for what is or is not supposed to be occurring with children and around children. There were specifics surrounding attitude, health, safety, etc.

1) I discovered how necessary the WAC’s are to maintaining good practices in the field of Early Childhood Learning. It’s the road map or blue print to good practices on how to maintain and attain your credentials to best practices for a quality outcome to all who are involved or utilizing facilities that we trust to provide quality care. Just a wealth of information and every word I read was invaluable.

1} I discovered the importance and necessity of the WAC’s and how it helps build a foundation and bridge to the best practices in early learning for children. It was truly a wealth of information. The “Bible” of best practices and the importance of following the guidelines to not only run a successful business to ensure the quality of care and services for all children and families.
2) I wasn’t really surprised by the WAC’s but I was impressed by the details in each section that read as a blueprint. It was very detailed oriented and helpful in answering questions I may have had.
3} I can absolutely see how the WAC’s will influence my day to day practices and I’m so grateful to have this guideline to go by. Some would think this is common sense info but in reality, there is a lot more detail instruction on how to fulfill your obligation with respect, dignity and absolute best practice care for all, including co-workers, parents, children and community. It was really good to see how inclusive it is of all races, languages and disabilities etc. Again, I was very impressed and glad to see that a great team of people worked very hard on putting together this extensive outline. I also like to note how much i appreciate the links and resources to achieving your educational goals.

MemberJune 7, 2024 at 8:22 pm1. I discovered that, as was said by other colleagues, it is extremely extesive and detailed, which is fantastic! //It overlooks every area you could ever imagine and need help in.
2. The toothbrushing one? I didn’t realize that was a WAC and required daily, in childcare.
Also, when reading through definitions, I didn’t realize how many LGBTQ+ words would be included. This observation is not negative; just made me wonder why it was needed for children under 4. There were some words I was not even aware of myself.
3. Majority of the WACS were common sense for the common person, but also a great reminder for all of us that will be caring for children and guiding them in the early years.
