My biggest worry with keeping children safe is trying to keep them safe when they are in situations out of our control such as when kids are in abusive homes or other dangerous scenarios outside of the class room. As while it is our duty to report, we cannot help in the moment and that’s a scary thought

Th world in today is what worries me. The shows and internet that kids watch/get to use. The games they play. Violence has been a big deal in todays world and seeing how kids just want to fight or play bad guys. Makes you have to beware of your surroundings at all times.

One of my biggest worries would probably have to be in gun violence issue occurring in our nation right now. You can prepare for emergencies but something like that is horrific to have to teach young children and a very scary situation.

MemberFebruary 16, 2023 at 2:58 pmMy biggest worry is caring for a baby and having SIDS happen. Nothing I could have done but I would be so devastating. Keeping the children safe of accidents like falling off chair bumping head or whatever, going down slide and hitting elbow, running and scraping knee on sidewalk. It just breaks my heart when those disasters happen to my littles.

Aside from the big things that could happen, I think my biggest worry about keeping children safe is even if I’m in ratio but I’m the only caretaker in the room if there’s an accident, I might miss what happened if I was working with another child and chaos breaks out.

abusive and non-attentive teachers are big worries I have for children’s safety. School shootings are a big thing nowadays as well too.

MemberMarch 2, 2023 at 7:35 pmMy biggest worry is the internet, our massive issue with bullying, and shootings. There is so much out there on the internet, with many parents not monitoring their children. Even if you protect your own child from what is on the internet, it is simple for another child to just show things they may have seen. It is hard not to expose them to dangers that are out there

MemberMarch 9, 2023 at 12:20 pmMy biggest worry about keeping the children in my care heathy and safe is that our center work in collaboration with parents to be as transparent as possible when the child is sick. Parents must let provider know and keep the child home. Some parents can’t afford to stay home with the child so they bring the child to daycare sick. What happens is germs are spread and other children become sick.

My biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe is the factors outside of my control, I trust myself to provide the best care I can and mistakes will be made along the way but my biggest concern is the increasing access that children are having with non developmentally appropriate subjects. With greater access to the internet and at younger ages children are being desensitized and at being put at risk, in addition with school shootings children now have to practice lock down drills from a young age as well as risks that have always been present in the past and now. I worry about the fact that parents and providers can do everything right and children are still at risk for so many things outside of our control. I am also worried that I might not recognize the signs of abuse in a child and therefor not provide the intervention needed. My biggest priority is giving children an environment the is conducive to learning and developing safely and without trauma or excessive stress.

My biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe is not living up to the parents’ expectations.

My biggest worry is the uncontrollables like the people around you.

My biggest worry is missing something. I am worried that by missing certain signs or symptoms I could delay treatment for something dire. I know I can help to avoid this by learning the signs and symptoms of common things like head injury or abuse, but it is still a scary thought.

I’m worried about the stress epidemic that we face in our schools and society today. The infrastructure just isn’t able to handle the problems kiddos and adults face today.
I’m looking forward to learning the specific tips and regulations regarding safety in childcare settings.

I am most interested in learning what milestones are achieved by what age so I can tailor my curriculum to be developmentally appropriate.
