I think it should be as little as possible. We sometimes turn on a music video if the kids are crazy and let them dance it out. That’s about it.

I currently work at a center that accepts ages 2.5 to 12. We limit our screen time to 30 minutes during the day, and 1 hour during the last hour of the business being open. That only works if children get no screen time at home, but I think it’s a necessary evil as it helps students transition between play, and gives an incentive to do mediocre chores like putting toys away.

I would encourage you to find other ways to motivate your students.

I do not agree with having screen time for young children at school, unless its for educational purposes once in Elementary school. I think it’s the parents responsibility to monitor screen time at home. Child care settings are for learning, socializing and interacting with the care givers and other children

I believe that children in daycare settings should not have screen time while in care. It’s been said that children under 2 years old should not be exposed to screen time at all. However, this is easier said than done, as some families utilize screen time at home more than others. Because of this, it’s important that as people working in a daycare setting caring for children, we need to provide engaging and interesting activities for all children so that they do not get bored and are able to explore activities outside of screens.

I truly believe that there should be no screens in childcare for young children. They learn best when interacting with the people there with them.

I feel like screen time should be limited and allow them at least one hour out of the week to watch something, or even do a yoga video. You don’t want children to be dependent on TV or electronics. I also believe that screen time should only be used when they are at home and not in the classroom. But I think a better alternative is listening to music so they can have dance parties or even sing along to the music.

screen time is a issue in so many areas for children and parents there so many thing online now that you have to watch out for , but theres also educational videos that can educate children but should still be kept to a minimal screen time. I feel children learn more and receive more social skills and other important skills by doing Hands on activities for example painting ,coloring, dress up , pretend play . all those skills will help them grow.

There should not be screen time allowed for children in an early learning program. There are many ways to entertain and teach children, and screens are only supplemental tools that may or may not be useful to older children.

I think that screen time for children in childcare should be minimal because you do not know how much they receive at home. However, if there is screen time in childcare, it should be educational and be no more than 30 min a week.

I do believe that screen time is only appropriate for children when they get older. Screen time will only be done as well when there is an intention and not just a background noise.

I don’t think screen time is necessary at school, listening to music can help break up the day if its needed

Screens don’t serve a purpose in the childcare or early learning environment because they inhibit interaction with others. Children thrive when they have an engaging environment, a variety of activities and Teachers who are available to help guide them through social, emotional, cognitive and physical learning.

Screen time can easily be negative but as long as if it is monitored and limited it can be positive

i would say it is not ok for young kids to have screen time. instead of watching tv all day they can read, draw, play, listen to music, go outside. i would say there is a lot for younger kids to do and still have fun while not being on screens.
