If you were giving a prospective parent a tour through your program, what safety procedures would you highlight?

    – To begin as they come in i would be very welcoming I would show them around the class room all of the different areas for example, library, dramatic play and arts and crafts. To continue i would show them our energy routs and are monthly fire drills. Always advertise my child care center.

I would highlight cleaning/sanitizing procedures; physical security measures like alarms and check-in/check-out procedures. I’d also mention staff CPR and first aid certification.

Erin, you’ve identified important safety procedures to highlight during a program tour. Emphasizing cleaning and sanitizing procedures is crucial, especially in the current environment. Additionally, mentioning physical security measures such as alarms and check-in/check-out procedures reassures parents about the safety of their children. Highlighting staff CPR and first aid certification showcases the level of preparedness and care provided in the program. If you were giving a prospective parent a tour through your program, what safety procedures would you highlight? The main safety procedures that I would highlight would be the layout of each classroom as well as the connections from classroom to classroom and the ability to lock each door as well as the roots in which we take to get in and out of the building from several different rooms.

Hailey-Rae’s response is a good starting point for discussing safety procedures during a program tour. She appropriately mentions the layout of the classrooms, the ability to lock doors, and the routes for entering and exiting the building. It would be beneficial to also emphasize other safety measures, such as emergency evacuation plans, staff training in first aid and CPR, and the presence of security measures like cameras or buzz-in systems. Additionally, highlighting how the program promotes and maintains a safe and secure environment for children and staff would further enhance the safety procedures discussed during the tour. Thank you for sharing the response Hailey !

One safety feature I would want to point out would be our cleaning procedures and anything we do to keep children safe, including medicine out of reach.

We have an emergency board that lists fire exit plans, our emergency plans, etc., and I like to read that over with them. I also show our furniture and its stability.

First I would do a walk through of the class room while welcoming the family. Depending on the classrooms location I would then point out all of the safety precautions we have put into place to keep their child safe. For example keeping chemicals locked away.
