I’d begin by telling them we give each parent their own key code for the door . Let them know people who are not allowed in the building will not be given a code. I’d then take them on a tour of our classroom. SHow them how we are going to take care of their kid’s and how we’re going to teach them.

During a tour, I’d highlight our secure entrances and exits, childproofed areas, clean and sanitized toys, and safe outdoor play equipment. I’d also mention that staff are trained in CPR, first aid, and mandated reporting, and that we follow strict sign-in/sign-out and emergency procedures

If I were giving a perspective while touring through the program, I would highlight several key safety procedures to reassure families and demonstrate a strong commitment to child well-being. First, I would point out the secure entry system, including sign-in/out protocols and restricted access to authorized individuals only. I’d also emphasize that all staff are trained in CPR, first aid, and mandated reporting, and that emergency drills (fire, earthquake, lockdown) are conducted regularly. I would show how indoor and outdoor spaces are child-proofed, including covered outlets, gated stairs, safe climbing structures, and regularly sanitized surfaces and toys. Finally, I’d mention clear policies around supervision, food allergies, illness exclusion, and incident reporting to ensure transparency and quick communication with families.

I would start by showing them where our first aid kits are located, and sanitation stations. I would show them the different toys and activities we have, and mention that everything is safe and at the child’s height so they can reach, the bathrooms the toilets, where the fire extinguisher is, the exit routes in case of an emergency, outside. I would then explain the staff-to-child ratio.

If I were giving a tour to a prospective parent I would highlight sanitation procedures, emergency exit plans, and fire extinguishers. Since the kid proofing has already been done, the your of the facility should be enough to validate any concerns in the classroom.

If I were giving a prospective parent a tour, I’d highlight: Secure entry: Only authorized people can enter. Daily health checks: We check each child for signs of illness when they arrive. Safe sleep practices: Cribs are free of blankets and toys, and babies sleep on their backs. Emergency drills: We practice fire, earthquake, and lockdown drills regularly. Clean and sanitized spaces: Toys, tables, and bathrooms are cleaned daily. Supervision: Children are always within sight and sound of staff. Medication safety: We only give medication with proper forms and follow all licensing rules. These show families that their child’s health and safety are top priority.

If I were to give parents a tour of the facility, I would first focus on the areas where the children spend most of their time such as the reading corner, the math experiment area, the drama area and most importantly, if available, the outdoor area. I would point out key features such as all fixed furniture being firmly anchored to the wall, costumes and toys being washed regularly. Then I would point out that the outdoor area is fenced off from the street by a barrier and that play areas such as climbing frames have been appropriately secured against serious injury using materials such as mulch etc. I would also show the sanitary area and the kitchen and point out that everyone has a food handler card and that everything is cleaned according to a plan. Finally, I would also point out the first aid training of the employees

If I wearer giving a prospective parent a tour I will start by welcoming the parent and showing them my main area and how everything is set up at their child level and where they can easily have access to their toys and learning materials an assuring them that the furniture is secure to the wall or floor. Then walk them around the other areas and explain that everything that needs to be lock is lock so the children cannot get it. Then take them to the bathroom where they would only see things that children can only access and that everything else is put away in cabinet with locks. Then, take into the kitchen so they can see that it is nice and clean and that everything is put away so the children cannot reach anything that can harm them. The water will be place at the table, so they can easily assess their water bottle when they are thirst. Then take them outside where they can only see the toys that their child will be using. The ask them if they have any question.

While, its important to give good experience to a prospective parent during their tour, Safety of current children and parent who is touring is equally important. I would show them locked doors, clean play areas, and emergency exits. I would explain handwashing, safe sleep rules, and how we check who picks up the child.
