MemberApril 6, 2023 at 5:23 amI would begin by welcoming the family in a friendly matter in the classroom , then give them a tour of the class by first showing them all the safety hazards we use for example the exit doors, first aid kit, then proceed to show them the changing are, activity area, all her medication and where we store them .

If I were giving a prospective parent a tour, I would highlight our cleaning procedures and monthly fire drills.

MemberApril 11, 2023 at 4:56 pmOne of the first things when it comes to welcoming parents to the center especially on tours is showing them all steps we take to keep all children safe. In our center, we have multiple gates positioned on specific spots of the center to protect children from wandering off to places they should not. We are renting a space in a church so we have temporary gates that we put up during school hours and have to put down during off hours.

MemberApril 11, 2023 at 5:33 pmI would highlight the locked door and that there is always a teacher or teaches watching

I would talk about the security measures that are in place, such as locked doors, security cameras, and sign in procedures that ensure only authorized individuals can enter the facility. I would also talk about emergency procedures, including evacuation plans, designated meeting places, and emergency contact information. I would highlight our policies related to hygiene, illness prevention and injury prevention. And lastly I would highlight the training and certification requirements for our staff. Parents, families, and guardians want to be reassured that their children will be in a safe and nurturing environment while in our care.
-
I would begin the tour with a warm welcome and a walk-through of a typical day, highlighting safety protocols throughout the facility.

MemberApril 16, 2023 at 2:42 amI would highlight features like blocked-off stairs or drop-offs, maintained visibility of children from any point in the classroom, separation for the outdoors (like check-in counters, multiple doors before being able to get outside, the inability of someone to walk into the classroom without being seen by another teacher or having to check in, etc). Enclosed outdoor spaces give the children the freedom to run and play without having to worry as much about them straying to far from the group or an unknown person being able to easily approach, etc.

MemberApril 26, 2023 at 1:24 pmI’d let parents know that someone is always with the kids. I’d show them where the first aid kit is. I’d point out the alarms, electrical outlet covers and other safety precautions as well.

I would highlight safety regulations for visitors (who is allowed to enter the daycare, who is allowed to be with the children, child-adult ratios), I would highlight health procedures as well around food or sanitization procedures.
-
If i were giving a prospectibe parent a tour the safety feature i would highlight would be the secured doors to the facility.
As a parent myself it makes me feel like my children are safe.
