<div>A lot of the WAC rules seemed very familiar as I had to gain certain qualifications for the assistant teacher job as a preschool. Required rations between children and teachers is a common issue I deal with almost every single day and the constant way we solve problems with it. </div>

I descovored that there are many different WACs and each one has its own part and not all would be the same. After completing the assignment most of then didn’t surprise me because they all make sense. I can see why WAC can be an influence because it meantions the ways we as educators need to care for out childeren.

The rules and regulations regarding early learning in Washington that are described in WAC Chapter 110-300 are so thorough that they support everything from staff training and child ratios to curriculum and safety. I was caught off guard by how very specific some rules are—for instance, a written curriculum philosophy and the requirement that the space must be big enough for children to move around without interruption. The WACs will have a great impact on my daily routine. They determine my interaction with kids, the number of kids I can look after, how I organize the activities, and how I cooperate with the regulations to make the kids safe and learning.

I didn’t really find anything interesting about the WACs that I found not comprehensive because I understood the importance of why the codes were created. I do like how it emphasizes that both public and private-owned centers have similar regulations they must follow in accordance with Chapter 110-300 of the WACs of early learning programs. It also shares regulations on other areas of early learning, such as the indoor/outdoor play areas.

What i discovered about the WAC is the necessity to have licensing even if you are doing the child care in a family members. This shocked me a little because you would assume that it would be more relaxed if it is at a home environment

While completing the WAC activity, I discovered that the rules are very detailed and cover almost every part of childcare, from safety and health to staff training and learning environments. I was surprised by how specific some of the WACs were, but it made me realize how much they help keep children safe and programs consistent. I can see how these standards will affect my daily work because they give clear guidance and expectations for how to care for children in a professional and responsible way.

I was a bit surprised by how specific the regulations are, especially about who can be licensed and the rules for operating in a private residence. However, it makes sense becuase these rules/ regulations are put in place for botht he caretakers safety and the children.

I was not surprised by the WAC rule, it describes clear plans on how childcares should be preforming to bring in families. it did not surprise me on how often the requirements need to be updated. Things are always changing so it is no surprise that that means new training to make sure we are staying current with the rules of WACs. It also presented great information about how to run a childcare with different age groups & it will help me in caring for the children, & helpful tools I can use in the future.

I am not surprised about the WAC guidelines. I think WAC is important because it provides the same guidelines for all childcare providers in the state of WA .

    1. I discovered the WACs are extremely detailed and a bit forbidding to read through quickly. It would take a lot of time to be deeply familiar with them.2. None of the WACs really surprised me. It was interesting to see the legal definitions of lead teacher, assistant teacher, aide, volunteer, etc.3. It seems like the WACs would most influence day-to-day practice in a school regarding compliance for who is present in the room with children at a given time and who must supervise those staff. In my experience, this can sometimes get complicated.

I discovered that the WACs are required for a lot of situations. None of the WACs really surprised me, they seem to make sense in ensuring that children are adequately protected. I can see how the WACs will influence my day-to-day, since I am required to know them as they pertain to my job.

    1. I discovered that you can not be licensed by someone who you are relted to. 2. I was not surprised by the WACs, I feel that they are all reasonable requirements of someone working in childcare. 3. I can see how the WACs will influence my day-to-day practices in child care because these requirements help you gain knowledge of the proper practices in child care.
