make it simple and have schedule that is both flexible yet consistent. for example meals and naps around the same time each day, as well as the circle time routine. as for other activities have them planned but if children seem like not participating in small group be flexible enough to mayne go outside earlier or some dance music time to get the wiggles out before doing small group.

having enough material to keep kids busy at play. also that it is age appropriate and their size. a place that is inviting and encourages kids to engage in activities.

i think screen time has changes the way children play now. i have seen children not want to play with other children they rather be watching tv. they have become more aggressive and don’t want to do activities. i think it shouldnt be introduced early maybe around 2 years is ok to start but limited time.

I would ask the family maybe in a worksheet where they can write anything about themselves that i think is important to know when a new child arrives. if the child only speaks their native language i will make sure to be able to communicate with child mayne ask parents basic communication to teach me to make child be confortable. make an effort to learn more about the childs culture and implement int my day to day activities like in the food served or talking about it through books or posters.
