it is important to have a foundation of respect and trust for every relationship. when it comes to parents keeping a cool and calm relationship matters! focus on the Childs needs and growth, while also maintaining space for the parents thoughts and feelings.

I would want my provider to keep my child safe, understand them individually through their needs, and provide them with a productive learning environment.

Taking what you learn from observing each Childs needs and directly implementing that into an activity and curriculum is important. Incorporating all sorts of ideas and themes that are not vague to any students is important. getting the students to work on things in groups can can good for engagement.

building a balanced schedule for children takes time. I think something important, is to have visuals on display and maybe morning meetings that help guide children every day through their routine. visuals help children identify what time of day it is and where they are at on their schedule.

I think that in order to create a healthy save and return environment early learning professionals need to understand the cues, sounds and gestures of children so that we can notice when they are interested in something to provide them with a return ready response. Doing so will help young children keep exploring and developing in all kinds of ways!

You would want to open of the floor for real communication about why this keeps reoccurring. Get an inside look about what is going on with the family so that you can better support them and work through the obstacle together. Try not to blame the family and allow space for their emotions and needs, but also remind them that their child must come first. Maybe discuss alternative pick up options with the family if they cannot figure out how to meet pick up time.

I am not surprised by any of the WAC’s. I think that in a such a field as childcare, it is necessary to take many precautions and have many standards. I think it’s important to know the WAC’s and to implement them into your work everyday. I see myself using these codes every day in the classroom whether that be keeping a healthy and clean work space or making sure we have the right amount of students in our classes.
