When creating a schedule I would plan meal times and nap time first and plan activities around that. I would involve the children into planning to make it more interactive and fun. I would also make my schedule is flexible so it can be adjusted in case changes need to be made through out the day.

Having a learning environment to accommodate all children is important. Just like when we as adults are in are happy place these children should feel they are in a happy place.
A Warm and inviting place where they can have a good time, see friendly faces ,a place that offers fresh air, good food and makes you feel good. Children should feel comfortable and secure. A place where children to play and grow socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.

Some good ways to approach a parent about developmental screening of their child would be first to have a script ready so you are prepared on what to say and how to say it. Then make sure you have good documentation and knowledge to help you share information objectively. Also knowing the local resources is essential to help families understand what to do next this is also reassuring to families that they are not alone through this process.

Observing and documenting a childs development help providers because it helps provide you with information you need in order to offer quality care and comply with the WAC requirements. Also each child has their own temperaments, learning styles, experiences, family, and cultural differences. Learning about each child developmental strengths and challenges through observation help create a appropriate program for each child.

My thoughts on screen time in childcare is that there should be none I believe that verbal directions, visual cues that are not electronic, talking to others or simply a physical directions like paper or book is better but if screen time is necessary it should be monitored by a teacher and limited.

Early learning providers can create a serve and return environment in the classroom by sharing focus on something a child in interested in, support and encouraging a child interests, naming what a child is focusing on, taking turns with a child playing back and forth, practicing ending and beginnings paying attention to when a child is all done with one thing and moving on to next. Following the 5 steps of serve and return.

I would pull that mother into a private office space and ask why she is always late and if there is something we could do to help her if needed, but also remind her that being on time is important and tell her why in is important like staff need to leave, your child gets very worried, we as staff get worried, and that this happening multiple times bring up some concerns. allowing the mother to express her emotion and feelings about being late as well.

WACS are in place to keep Children, staff, parents and anyone else safe, and to give children a safe and healthy space to learn and grow.

Yes because the wacs are used everyday to make sure programs run smoothly and safely. Also to keep early learning centers open and operating.
Were you surprised by any of the WACS?
No not really most of these are self explanatory, but need to be set in place to keep everyone safe, and to help children be able to learn in a happy enviorment.
