I like to let the child try to tell me how they feel first, then try and give their emotions words, such as “angry” or “frustrated”, and working though breathing exercises.

Possibly even making them ‘recipe cards’ to follow with play food.

It can help us learn what to focus on with each individual child.

You can create an environment by focusing on anything kids may be heavily interested in and showing an equal interest, supporting their interests, encouraging and including them in activities, letting them try something new on their own.

“An early learning provider must provide culturally and racially diverse learning opportunities. Diverse learning opportunities must be demonstrated by the provider’s curriculum, activities, and materials that represent all children, families, and staff.”
The WAC states that providers must equipment and materials that represent all children, family, and staff. You must also intervene appropriately to stop biased behavior from children or adults. This includes refusing to ignore biases.
