Building a good partnership between caregivers and childcare providers starts with open and honest communication. Take time to listen, share updates about the child, and work together to solve any challenges. Show respect and understanding for each other’s roles, and always focus on what’s best for the child.

This helps them learn by doing. Another one can be to encourage children to act out stories or pretend play, which helps them use their imagination and learn social skills.

By keeping detailed records, educators can plan activities and lesson plans that are aligned with each child’s developmental stage, making sure they have the right materials and support to grow. This also helps providers spot any potential delays or areas where a child may need extra help. Tools like the CDC’s milestone checklist can guide providers in observing key developmental milestones and making sure they are offering the best care for each child.

Screen time can be negative for children in child care because it often limits their opportunities for active play, social interaction, and hands-on learning. Excessive screen use can lead to reduced physical activity, which is important for healthy growth and development. It may also affect their attention span and ability to engage in face-to-face communication with peers and caregivers. Additionally, too much screen time can disrupt sleep and lead to behavioral issues, making it important for child care providers to balance screen use with other enriching activities.

If the issue persists, I would consider discussing it with a supervisor for further action.

welcoming child that recently imigrated
1. To welcome the child, I would greet them warmly, introduce them to the class, and create a special “welcome” poster with their name.
2. To celebrate their unique characteristics, I would encourage them to share something about their culture, like a favorite story or song, and incorporate it into our activities.
3. To help the other children get to know this child, I would organize simple group activities where they can all play together and encourage questions about each other’s backgrounds.
