Some of the best ways to help children recognize and regulate their emotions is by, making sure you teach the children what those emotions look like and feel like. Then when the child is calm, help them practice certain calming techniques like deep breathing.

It’s important to be able to give yourself time to rest and digest the things you’re helping with.
Always remember, you give the best help when you are at your best. Not allowing yourself to rest only harms yourself and others.

Advice I would give is to make sure that you are listening, playing and being active with your kids. Make sure you support kids who seem a little less willing to join in on group activities. Promote and support different cultures and activities.

Such as reward systems, emergency and health policies, food policies, diaper changing policies and more. Its always good to be clear and having written policies lowers the chance for confusion of mistake.

I would make sure to take the child aside and ask basic questions to have further details. Then I would call CPS to report the case.

My biggest worry with keeping children safe is trying to keep them safe when they are in situations out of our control such as when kids are in abusive homes or other dangerous scenarios outside of the class room. As while it is our duty to report, we cannot help in the moment and that’s a scary thought

My advice for creating and maintaining a good partnership between care givers and childcare providers is making sure the parent is involved with their child’s development. Make sure you provide support, warmth, understanding and encouragement when interacting with care givers. Make sure you refer to parents when making big decisions regarding their children. Make sure to listen to parents.

If I was a parent of a young child the three things id want from a provider are
1. I’d want the provider to be gentle and patient with my child
2. I’d want the provider to be transparent and open with me
3. I’d want the provider to be responsible and alert

. Relating the learning activity to current interests of the children
. Present the activity in a way that feels exciting instead of clinical or boring
. Perhaps make the learning a group activity
. Using a reward and praise system is really helpful when getting kids to step outside their comfort zone
