The best ways are going to be by helping them identify what their emotion sounds and looks like and then to identify that we can do if they are felling those emotions.

Building nurturing and responsive relationships is essential to promote healthy social-emotional development for all children and includes relationships with children, families, and teachers.

I personally just take time to walk away. I allow my self 3 deep breathes and then return to that conversation with the child .

Id say listen to build a connection. Return and serve. If a child is showing interest meet that interest back curiosity is a Childs way of saying they want to know more.

  • Absolutely these policy’s are put in place for protection of children and staff. without some of these policy’s the environment could potentially be unsafe or less structured.

  • A 2 month old should only be sleeping in a Crib or bassinet with no blanket. This needs to be level and secure and the baby should be placed on his or her back as to prevent Sids.

I think assigning jobs allows for every one in the classroom to participate, psychically and mentally.

This allows for the children to socialize and move around and giving them a sense of responsibility.

The safety Procedures I would highlight would be our safety plan in case of fire, all exits, room for the children 35ft inside , 75 outside. Where our sanitizing equipment is and the regimen we require. As well as informing them that all food is handled with a food safety permit licensed individual.

If I suspected abuse I would inform cps right away sometimes time can be crucial to that child or vulnerable adult. I would also not inform the parents and allow CPS to take over from there. As a mandated reporter I have a duty to say something.

What is your biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe?

My biggest concern in keeping children safe is over stepping my bounds but I know that as a caregiver or Teacher it is my responsibility to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

I think creating and maintaining a relationship with parents and childcare providers starts with communication and active listening. We can relay what we see without judgement and by providing resources we are a simple guiding hand in that family’s lives.

Three important things I would want from my Childs provider would be Kindness, consistency and patience.

  • One idea to get children engaged in meaningful learning is by getting them excited. I find that music is so universal it speaks to a lot of us. I would have the children space apart as to be careful we don’t hurt one another then have them select a short song and offer it as exercise time to move and listen which is helping to improve some of their senses as well.
