Being able to communicate to the child about what they are feeling and what they need can help the child recognize their emotions. Books on emotions help as well.

I communicate with my colleagues and take moments for myself to breathe and collect myself.

Some exchanges you could make is by recognizing and welcoming them by name when they walk in the classroom, acknowledge them when they talk to you, and offer help when they need it.

You need to spend time communicating positively to children, getting to know their likes and dislikes as well as participating in the serve and return.

Keeping a dramatic play area, playing songs that the child can dance to and games are good ways for a child to be physically active in the classroom.

I would show the parents how secure our building is, exits, safety procedures, bathrooms, handwashing stations, how we sanitize, how we prep out food, where we keep our first aid and how well the room set up is to avoid injuries.

I would make sure to document when the suspicion took place, and then talk to my supervisor to see if they had similar concerns and then report.

My biggest worry about keeping children safe and healthy are them hurting themselves on accident and/or potentially being exposed to sexual abuse, physical abuse, and gun violence.

The three things I would want most from my child care provider would be:

    1) Give them the care and attention they need when I am not there. 2) Give them a good quality education to help them prepare for the future. 3) Give them safety and security to keep them from harm.

The things I would be the most fearful of is:

    1) neglecting my child’s needs. 2) not keeping my child safe. 3) not helping them increase their education.

  • To get children engaged in active, meaningful learning, you need to ask meaningful questions about what they are doing. You should also keep in mind their interests and base some activities off of them.
