Announcing changes prior to movement, facilitating indoor/outdoor transfers, and allowing children to feel control over certain activities can allow for smoother transitions and better learning.

Communication between staff and family, empathy, kindness, and a passion for teaching are all integral to successful early-life education.

With children in school using tablets and ipads, I think that healthy, monitored screen time for older preschoolers and all school-agers is key to creating healthy, safe, and responsible online habits. I do not think infants or toddlers should have screen time, however, I do think music and dance time through electronic devices is very important.

We can encourage this type of environment by, not only offering to help children but asking children for help in a developmentally appropriate way. If the children feel needed and supported, it is more likely that they will ask for and offer help to their classmates.
