Playing with a child or having a conversation will allow you a glimpse of details into a child’s life. communicating will allow you as an adult to come up with solutions that a child might not be able to on their own. Children reveal a lot of information without a parent realizing it. as an adult in a childcare program it is important to create a safe place for thus child.

But since every child comes from such different backgrounds, it is really hard to decipher between abuse and normalcy from diverse families. If ever suspected of child abuse or neglect, talking to someone I trust that also works within the same setting as me would be my first thing to do. then make a call on whether or not a report is necessary.

Something that I have done in the past is engaged in play dough work. when a child is making something ill ask them to explain what they are doing and listen to how in-depth they go. This is a great way to get kids to be creative with what they are working on.

create a plan for what you might want the routine to look like. Allow children to be a part of the prosses. not only does it help you, but it incorporates the children into thinking for themselves and wanting to actively participate.

creating an environment where children feel welcomed is something that should be important in every classroom setting as a care giver. Allowing things to be on the child’s level will make them feel more comfortable within the class room. Making sure there is a nurturing aspect is also something to focus on.

This a great practice for you and another party.

It’ll allow space for you to see if the child’s development is going in the direct path. With this, is the room for trial and error. Determining how to help the child will greatly impact on what to do next.
