While at work, making sure to take my break ( just for a few minutes help me be ready to go back and be recharged). When at home, taking a walk with my my dog, exercising, reading, listening to music or hot shower helps a ton.

I think it is important to build a trusting and loving relationship with all children, so they feel safe and understood. It is important to create a serve and return connection as a way to have a healthy relationship. As others mentioned, it is important for caregivers to actively interact with this children through play, reading and individual time and not just through supervision and observation.

I think guidance policies will be helpful when we need to address important decisions due to illnesses, emergency situations, or children behavior concerns.

Only sleep equipment designed for baby’s sleep time should be used. Baby can sleep on crib without any bumper or any decoration except firm mattress and bedding, bassinet, or in a playpen.

If you make it a game, or sing as you do it, kids tend to get into it more easily.

As they enter the center, I will welcome them and introduced myself. I will pointed out we have double locked doors from outside as we monitor our visitors and to keep safety as a priority. Then, I will give them a tour of the classroom indicating that we have an entry and exit door in every classroom. Our furniture is secured to walls or floor, outlets are out of reach of children. I will also pointed out that every classroom has telephone and intercom system, bathroom access and material to deal with toileting accidents. I will point out sink area and water access. I will show them where we keep our cleaning supply and first aid safely storage, and point out our camera monitoring of every classroom and playground to keep children safe and allow parents to check on their kids at any time.

Our job is to take care of these children, so we should take action if all signs are indicating possible signs of abuse. First, I will closely monitor signs of abuse and take opportunities to talk to the the child. I will bring the issue with my supervisor to make sure I am taking the right steps. I will report the case to CPS if I believe abuse is happening right away.

My main fear is that a child will get really hurt under my care. Accident happens even when we take all the precautions, so it is always a concern that something may happen to a child and I will not react quickly enough to keeping it from happening it.

My advice will be to start with a kind and respectful relationship, maintain open communication and be careful with your choice of words when bringing up an issue (always start with positive feedback and bring concerns always with kindness). Childcare providers should maintain empathy but make sure to advocate for the child’s need. It is essential to work together with families since both of you want the best outcome for the child.

The most important three things I would want from a childcare provider are: to offer a clean, loving and safe environment for my child to learn, to be an honest communicator and to support each other for what is best for my child.

The three fears that I may have when leaving my child under someone else care are: they not paying enough close attention to my child and his developmental needs, my kid getting hurt because of neglect and my child no being care in a nurturing environment.

  • Some creative ways to help kids engaged is by using different mediums and involve kids in the process. For example, during fall months take children outdoor and ask them to collect a few leaves of different colors and shapes and bring them in the classroom. Inside, you can ask kids about the different colors and different shapes of their leaves. You can teach them that the tree colors change during autumn and eventually most tree leaves fall out to welcome a new season. You can also do a mini lesson of how to use them as stamps. By using white paper, watercolor paint, and leaves show them how to make beautiful and colorful art projects. Set children in small group and while supervising, let the children choose different paint colors and let their creativity bloom.

December 3, 2022 at 6:03 am in reply to: Daily schedule for children?

I think it is important to keep work time for children after meals or snacks. I think children as adults can learn and concentrate better when they are not hungry. I think it is also important to provide a few breaks or recess time after work time. If children can not go outdoor to play because of the weather, I think it is important to provide other physical activities like dancing or games where they have to move so their little bodies can release extra energy. And last but not least important, it is the inclusion of different types of activities through the day that expose the children to a variety of learning skills (like science, reading motor skills, social skills, math, etc).

A good learning center should have an organized, high quality, well plan and challenging classroom activities and areas that promote learning. It also should have a dedicated staff that observe and guide children as needed. It needs to have an established routine and schedule that allow children to feel comfortable and secure about what to expect.
