Always communicate with children and build trust. When you build trust with the child you create a safe environment for them and they open up more.

They are super useful for ensuring consistency in care. They provide clear expectations and a reference for everyone including staff, parents and children.

One way is to validate their emotions. Let the children know that you understand how they are feeling and that it’s ok to feel a wide range of emotions and that their feelings are valid.

Recognize and acknowledge my feelings. Seeking support is a very helpful one, often talking to colleagues helps relieve guidance.

Open ended questions. Encourage the children to speak their minds.

A firm and flat mattress in a safety-approved crib or bassinet. Make sure there are no loose bedding, pillows, or soft toys.

Incorporate movement and physical activity into academic lessons, for example: use body movements to learn letters or numbers.

Use storytelling, role play, get creating when doing something. Even incorporating games will catch the children attention.

Children love learning with music. I believe involving songs with learning is a great way to increase a child’s knowledge.

Being consistent and balancing things out

Providing a variety of age-appropriate materials and resources is essential. For example sensory materials and various toys, these things encourage exploration, creativity and learning.

Always start with a positive observation with their child. Highlight the child’s strengths and positive qualities. Then proceed to express the concerns gently to the parent about the child’s development in a compassionate manner.

This allows providers to gain a deeper understanding of the child’s strength and abilities. This also helps track a child’s milestone and progress over time. Documenting helps providers have a better responsive learning environment.

My thoughts on screen time for children in childcare are that it should not be implemented. We can see how kids tend to behave in general after watching or playing games on an electronic. They are more sensitive, cranky, anger issues and etc. this will give caregivers more problems and a harder time with kids that is unnecessary.
