I think movement flow is especially important. Young children move around a lot so it is crucial that they have space to do so.

make sure you have key points of development and conversation prepared and ask parents how they think their child is developing and what they value about development. It is also important to note the postive aspects of the child and how they are developing well.

Observing and documenting a childs development allows for more evidence based effective teaching strategies to be utilized as well as standardizes the childs information so that other caregivers can utilize it in the future.

serve and return gets at mutual respect and seeing the child’s humanity. To create a serve and return environment the back and forth must be modelled by educators and children must be given time to respond and share. This socializes children to be able to serve and return together.
