the safest place for a baby to sleep is a single level crib, infant bed, bassinet or play pen. the mattress should be firm and snuggly touch each side of the crib or bed and each child needs seperate bedding not touching other kids bedding.

If I were giving a prospective parent a tour through my program, the safety procedures i would highlight are the first aid protocols so that the families see we have plans in case of emergencies, as well as attendance and building safety protocols to ensure that their child will always be accounted for.

if i suspected abuse or neglect of a child i would document my concerns in detail and present them to my supervisor for immediate action. I think it if it is pressing then it is safer than sorry to make a report to CPS.

my biggest fear in keeping kids safe is having a major injury or an anaphylactic shock.

maintaining good relationships between parents and caregivers can include posting weekly newsletters so that the parent is aware of what there child is doing and learning in class. another thing that can enhance parent provider relationships is doing class activities that involve the parents such as parties or birthday celebrations.

as a parent to a young child. the three most important things i want provided for my child in the providers care are:

Centers that should be included in each classroom environment are dress up/role play, art, science, quiet center with literature provided with mat and pillows, plenty of storage, personal child storage near the door, and many more.

you must approach a parent objectively with observations ready to share with the oarent to back up what your saying. You need to have evidence to what you are saying. At the same time you must be sympathetic to the parents possible overwhelming feelings as you may be the firs tto address the atypical development of their child.

Knowing where a child is at in every aspect of development by observation is important in providing the appropriate activities to promote the most growth while a child is in your care.
