Observing and documenting a child’s development helps the caretaker or teacher understand the child’s strengths and weaknesses. It will also help them makeup lesson plans and activities to help further the development.

Screentime in childcare is not that bad. It can be used as a reward or another way to help children learn new things through educational games. Maybe a designated period for screentime would be okay.

I think playing together, doing activities together, and circle time are good serve and return activities.

I would meet with the parent and let them know that it is not okay for them to be picking their child up this late. It will have negative affects on the child mentally and emotionally. I would then be open to the parent’s reason.
